The case is polished using the zaratsu sword-polishing technique characteristic of Grand Seiko cases, and the crystal is Seiko's "High Definition" synthetic sapphire, which has a proprietary antireflective coating that gives exceptional clarity, as well as eliminating the bluish cast characteristic of typical AR treatments.
