Its stainless steel case, highly textured green dial and matching strap create a modern configuration with a very individual personality. At first glance, the Code 11.59 may appear relatively simple. However, closer inspection reveals an exceptionally complex case architecture. A very thin round bezel is combined with an octagonal middle case and round caseback. Therefore, the watch references Audemars Piguet's geometric design language while interpreting it in a completely different way from the Royal Oak. The highly architectural lugs are another defining feature. Their upper section is attached to the ultra-thin bezel, while the lower section rests delicately against the caseback. Moreover, the steel bezel and lugs require complex machining followed by extensive hand-finishing. As a result, the side profile is one of the most interesting views of the entire watch. The octagonal middle case becomes particularly visible from this angle, while alternating brushed and polished surfaces create beautiful reflections. The dial is even more impressive. Audemars Piguet uses a new embossed pattern made from concentric circles radiating outwards from the centre. In addition, hundreds of tiny cavities create a highly detailed surface with remarkable visual depth. The motif was developed together with Swiss guilloché craftsman Yann von Kaenel. He hand-engraved the steel stamping die used to transfer the design onto the brass dial base. Consequently, this is one of those dials that becomes even more impressive under magnification. The green colour further enhances the texture. Depending on the light, the dial can appear deep and restrained or considerably brighter and more intense. White-gold hour markers and hands with luminescent coating complete the design. The stainless steel case measures 41 mm in diameter and only 10.7 mm in thickness. Therefore, despite its complex architecture, the watch remains beautifully proportioned. The double-curved sapphire crystal also adds considerable visual depth and has become one of the signature elements of the Code 11.59 collection. Inside beats the manufacture Audemars Piguet Calibre 4302. The selfwinding movement provides approximately 70 hours of power reserve and operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour. Furthermore, it displays hours, minutes, central seconds and date. The movement consists of 257 components and uses 32 jewels. Through the sapphire crystal caseback, its finishing can be admired together with the dedicated openworked oscillating weight crafted from 22-carat pink gold. The watch is paired with a green rubber-coated strap. As a result, this version has a considerably sportier and more relaxed character than the traditional Code 11.59 models fitted with leather straps. A stainless steel pin buckle completes the configuration. Audemars Piguet Code 11.59 15210ST.OO.A056KB.01 is an excellent choice for someone looking for an AP without choosing another obvious Royal Oak. It offers the manufacture's characteristic geometric architecture, high-level finishing and an in-house movement, but presents them in a far more contemporary way. This example dates from 2024 and comes complete with all original Audemars Piguet boxes and documents. The manufacturer's warranty is valid until 2029.
