Its white dial, orange GMT hand and steel case create a highly distinctive combination. The Polar version has a very different personality from the black dial. Its white dial feels bright, fresh and highly legible. Moreover, the orange 24-hour hand adds a strong colour accent. In my opinion, this model works particularly well during summer. On the steel bracelet it remains classic. Meanwhile, an orange RubberB strap gives it an even more relaxed holiday character. The Oystersteel case measures 42 mm. Meanwhile, the fixed bezel features a 24-hour scale. Therefore, the Explorer II retains its distinctive tool-watch appearance. Inside beats the manufacture Rolex Calibre 3285. It provides approximately 70 hours of power reserve. Moreover, it features a blue Parachrom hairspring and Paraflex shock absorbers. The GMT function allows the local hour hand to be adjusted independently. Therefore, the watch is particularly useful while travelling. The 24-hour hand can meanwhile display home time. The dial and hands use Chromalight with long-lasting blue luminescence. In addition, the date at 3 o’clock is covered by the characteristic Cyclops lens. The Oyster bracelet features an Oysterlock safety clasp. Meanwhile, Easylink allows approximately 5 mm of quick adjustment. Therefore, everyday comfort is excellent. Rolex Explorer II Polar 226570 is a great choice for someone looking beyond the more obvious Submariner or GMT-Master II. It is less common, yet instantly recognisable. This example dates from 2023. It comes complete with all original Rolex boxes and documents. Condition is excellent, virtually like new.
