Really BAD experience: Hodinářství BOREK

Hi,

 

I'm a foreigner and i was trying to find a watchmaker to fix/maintenance my watches, and I'm really surprise with what happen to me. In the beginning of January (before knowing this forum) I took a seiko 6139-7100 to "Hodinářství BOREK" to replace the bezel and do a maintenance. Yesterday when i went to pick it up, they told me (i don't understand czech, but I understand the gesture language) that there where not able to do nothing, so I pick my watch and go home. When I arrive home what was my surprise when i saw the watch, the scratch (deep ones) the bottom part trying to open it, and THE WATCH IS NOT RUNNING, it only move (and in a weird way) the second hand of the Chronograph needle.

Can I do something? Where can I complain? Of course now I don't have anything that prove that I took my watch there, they didn't charge me nothing (at least), but the receive that i have to pick up the watch they keep it.

Weird experience, do you mean that you took home a A PIG IN A POKE and only then realized that the watch is scratched and not working?

Sorry but I don't see a way to solve this painfull experience of bad service next time choose the watchmaker wisely, this forum can help.

Unless you took before- and after- photos, it will be very hard to prove that they damaged your watch.

 

I suggest that you forget about the whole thing and bring the watch to somebody else, for example http://hodinarstvi-frydl.sluzby.cz/

Shame to hear. I'd suggest to take czech speaking friend with you and go there once again. Show them both problems you are talking about and ask for explanation and compensation. If anything, you tried at least. Good luck.
