  1. In fashion there are classic examples of size ,colour and design ....for ladies.... the little black dress, for men when you buy a suit to have trousers that are straight not flared etc. A Sport 1 still looks good today.
  2. Villa Tungendhat is an example of timeless design.
  3. Good morning Honza, I agree, but fashion is not always timeless. We are influenced by what is in fashion today, but later we realise that it looks strange. What looks good today does not always look good tomorrow. Timeless design does exist, I think. Bathrooms are another good example of this....sixties fashion.. To invest a huge quantity of money for a watch should mean we can wear it for ever......or not?
  4. Greetings, what do you think is the ideal TIMELESS watch size is? Personally speaking 38mm-42mm.........I think that a lot of large watches purchased today that are in fashion are going to look rather strange and unwearable in the future. Enjoy the steam bath ..... !! Best wishes Micky
  5. When I started writing on the Forum ages ago,I used the nickname Micky. As I had not written anything for a year or two I forgot and wrote my real name. Sorry to confuse.
  6. I have tried entering Tudor...top right,as you said, but only 2 results ....what we are writing about here! Maybe I am doing something wrong....
  7. I know I am not the world s biggest authority on watches yet, but why is Tudor not included? In my humble opinion The Pelagos ,for example is a well made, well thought out watch. I would love one. What do you think? Best wishes. Laurence
  8. How difficult is it....and expensive to have an atypical sport 1 if I give them a mechanism ? Does anyone have first hand experience, please? I would like a new case and face?......I am talking about the watch, now Enjoy the sun Best wishes Laurence
  9. I would like to have a Sport 1 renovation and have some ideas for colours....what supplier does Elton use, please? I would like to select a paint colour from a catalogue. Thank you in advance . Best wishes Micky
  10. Yes....these are certainly photographs...... of the bubbly variety. What watch is under all the bubbliness?
  11. ....they are,of course pictures......,but the question is,when the retouching, highlights, lowlights, harder edges etc,etc.... the things that are more than what was possible with film development and dramatically change the image make it into an illustration? Where is the borderline? We give the label to this image ,photo, but is it?
  12. What do you think? I have been going to photographic exhibitions ,and the number of photographs that have been heavily retouched and reworked is huge,to the extent that in my opinion some pictures stop being photographs but some type of photoillustration.... When does a photograph become an illustration?
  13. Dear Prim fans, I have been gone for quite a long time due to personal problems...divorce etc ...Now I am back and looking forward to learning more from you about Prim Are there any Project Orlik watches still available ,please? I would really love one as they look B E A U T I F U L! Enjoy the summer sun. Best wishes Micky
  14. Dear Prim fans, from a technical and reliability point of view , what was the best vintage Prim movement, please?
  15. Hello Prim fans, in these economically difficult times, are vintage Prim watches holding their value? What do you think are the best models as investments? Micky
  16. Hello again Prim fans, do you have any nice photos ? Enjoy the sun.........when or if we ever have any! Micky

    Greetings from USA

Hi there, as for the Orlik advertised,I wouldn t buy this one as the condition isn t good. Regarding a Sport 1 ...it is a really nice, practical ,different watch to wear with a timeless design. If you had an original mechanism and had it put in a new case it would be harder wearing than the original chrome.I have done some research as I am thinking of doing the same thing. If you want they will even produce a face and lunette in the colour of your choice.it sounds mouthwateringly good. Best wishes Micky
  18. Could anyone tell me if gold was used on vintage Prim hands, please?
  19. thanks.I wanted to ceck as something didn t seem right about it,even tough it looks attractive
  20. At the risk of being boring ,I will ask the same question I have asked before.Of course in an auction the selling price is what someone is,or in this case is not prepared to pay.In other words, there is a market price for everything, and then if someone really wants something they are prepared to pay more than the real value .After what has happened in the case of this Orlik, what do you think the real value is.My idea is ,not more than 70 thousand. What has happened to this Orlik? Does anyone know?
  21. Really nice I guess it is generally true that Elton logo vintage is more sought after than a Prim logo watch made by Elton. An example could be the value of a Prim Sport 1 ,compared with an Elton Sport 1 What other vintage Prim watches could fetch sky high prices?
  22. Dear Prim fans, is the amount fetched for the Orlik on Aukro a record price for a vintage Prim, please?
  23. I was only asking for estimates about what people thought the Orlik which is now being auctioned could fetch.I It seems that on the Prim Czech forum people have been doing exactly that.Of course I know that it will fetch whatever someone is willing to pay....but estimates are quite fun. I do know what capitalism is.I have lived in Britain most of my life
  24. .....And how much does the fact that the original strap is missing lower the value do you think?
