Micky Posted September 12, 2008 Report Posted September 12, 2008 I would like to ask if an illustrated book exists on the history of Prim? If one doesn't exist do you think it would be a good idea to publish one? In Czech of course as I am sure I would be asking a lot to expect English. Thank you in advance for your help. Micky 1

Micky I am not sure about the book. Personally, I am no PRIM fan. However, Skalis, a member of this forum. has started to compile a catalogue of all old PRIM models. The intermediary result can be found and downloaded here: [post=http://physics.muni.cz/~skalicky/download/katalog.pdf]http://physics.muni.cz/~skalicky/download/katalog.pdf[/post] Recently, Skalis commenced cooperation with Elton to complete the catalogue. Should you like to be updated about further development, monitor occasionally the following thread: [post=http://forum.chronomag.cz/index.php?showtopic=12299&st=20]http://forum.chronomag.cz/index.php?showtopic=12299&st=20[/post] Edited September 12, 2008 by lib

skalis Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 Hi Micky (and others), The current version of catalogue is still under construction, but I suppose I will release it asap (may be in one week, but I cannot assure it). The main problem is, that I am still missing the manufacturing years (years ranges), which is the main sorting criterion, for the watches... and now the most of following work is routine typing the configuration records for every model, which takes some time.

Thank you very much for the information. It seems like it would be a really demanding ,time consuming project and one all Prim enthusiasts should thank you for doing. I look forward to seeing it. Where and how will it be available, please? Kind regards Micky

skalis Posted September 28, 2008 Report Posted September 28, 2008 Micky, the new preliminary version of the Prim catalogue was released and can be downloaded here: http://physics.muni.cz/~skalicky/download/katalog.pdf The main sorting parameter is the decade in which the production of every single watch had been started, however I do not have exact information about it. That is why in most cases this is based only on my estimate and can be wrong (I suppose, that it is). The production dates will be corrected, after I will get more precise data. Here follows some english translation: Obdobi=period, decade Popis hodinek=basic description kategorie=category (can be panske=men, damske=women, detske=children) typ designu=design (spolecenske=classic, sportovni=sport, universalni=uni..., specialni=spec... (eg. military, for nurses)) poc. rucek=number of hands datove okno=date (ano=yes, ne=no) den v tydnu=day Pouzdro=case material=mat...(mosaz=brass, ocel=steel) povrch.uprava=surface(chromium, plaque=gold plated) typ dna=type of back(naklapavaci=clap, zavitove=screwing) velikost=size delka=size between lugs vodotesne=waterproof prachotesne=dust proof Sklo=glass tvar skla=glass shape (cylindric, rovne=flat) rozmer=size Kalibr=calibre pohon=drive natah=winding (rucni=hand) poc.kamenu=num. jewels vterinovka=second-hand :_)) vyroba=manufacturing dates All data are not available and will be actualised and the number of catalogised watches will increase (hopefully). In case of any questions do not hesitate and write me a personal message="poslat zpravu" in user section, or write it to this thread...
