September 2017, Geneva ? In 2017, Alpina celebrates its aviation history with the launch of several timepieces in the Startimer Collection. The Startimer Pilot Quartz Big Date Chronograph enriches the collection with a daring new look!

This year the brand decided to revive this iconic collection with the launch of several models as well as the announcement of a new partnership with champion air racer, Mike Goulian. Since April 2017, Alpina is the official partner of Team Goulian throughout the exciting Red Bull Air Race World Championships.

 

 

Startimer Pilot Quartz Big Date Chronograph

 

This notorious model is introduced in an all-new camouflage color pattern of grey and black in an oversized screwed-in 44 mm black PVD-treated case with large luminous white numerals. The three chronograph counters are showcased at three, six and nine o?clock, including the 1/10th of a second chronograph. A detailed engraved Alpina Gen?ve logo embellishes the back of the watch. The screwed-in crown offers maximum protection and the scratch-resistant sapphire crystal completes the look, which may reveal to be slightly different from what we expect from a pilot watch but remains true to its strict standards. The whole is offered with a black genuine leather strap, which gives the watch a fierce personality.

2017 NOVELTY ? ALPINER 4 AUTOMATIC

 

October 2017, Geneva ? Alpina Watches presents its new additions to the popular Alpiner 4 Collection.

 

 

After successfully developing the ?Block Uhr? in 1933, in 1938, Alpina Watches put forth the concept of 4 which in turn gave birth to the first Swiss sports watch, the Alpiner 4. This concept is based on the combination of four key characteristics that Alpina deems essential to create a sports watch; anti-magnetic, anti-shock, water-resistant and stainless.

 

 

The Concept of 4

 

These features are vital to the adventurous Alpina watch user, they allow for a free use of the watch without worrying about its continuous performance. This concept was in fact the vision of Alpina founder Gottlieb Hauser, allowing the Alpiner 4 to tackle the entire Alpina sports? universe, from mountain climbing and skiing to alpine lake diving.

 

The new Alpiner 4 Automatic

 

Following the 2016 launch of the automatic line, Alpina introduces three new versions. The watches come in two sets: all stainless steel or stainless steel on leather bracelet. The iconic ?glacier blue? dial welcomes a new variation, a contemporary mix of black with red on the outer rim, accompanied by the matching black leather strap with red lining. The famous red triangle adorns the seconds hand and the 12 o?clock mark on the bi-directional turning bezel, while the Alpina 1883 logo is engraved in the 44mm back case of the watch. The date window is displayed at 3 o?clock and the luminova-treated indexes are delicately placed over the sunray-finished dial. The AL-525 automatic caliber offers a 38-hour power-reserve, the stainless steel case allows for a 10 ATM water-resistance as well as the other three main features of the Concept 4 anti-magnetic, anti-shock, and stainless.

 

This new model enriches the Automatic line of the Alpiner 4 Collection, giving Alpina enthusiasts more options all the while ensuring a fully operational and performant watch under any weather or terrain conditions.

Drawing inspiration from the Startimer Pilot Automatic collection, this limited edition timepiece maintains all the desired pilot features as well as excellence and qualitative finishing details.

Tato novinka se mi vlastně ani moc přidávat nechce, protože za mě jsou ty hodinky ukrutně nepovedené, ale co, novinka to je a třeba přece jen někoho zaujmou, i když o tom silně pochybuju. Osekaná čísla, osmička je tam úplně navíc, když na druhé straně nic není a je toho víc..Mno ani moji oblíbenci nejsou bez chyb

January 2018, Geneva ? A new Chronograph makes its way to the Startimer Collection, the ultimate pilot line from Alpina. Inspired by previous models, this novelty remains faithful to the Startimer design codes that define a pilot watch.

 A pilot legacy

In addition to being an Alpinist brand and the original creator of the modern sports watch, Alpina has a rich history in aviation. 50 years ago, Alpina was the official supplier for military aviation watches to continental air forces and since then the brand has continued to honor this legacy.

 

A pilot?s watch

To strengthen the ties with this historical legacy, the brand welcomed in 2017 champion air racer, Mike Goulian as their new ambassador, and formed a new collaboration as the Official Time Keeper of Team Goulian in the Red Bull Air Race World Championships.

 

The Startimer Pilot Chronograph Quartz

This line introduces five new models sporting three different styles. The first is available in a sunray navy blue dial with a matching blue nylon strap or a stainless steel bracelet. The second showcases a creamy beige dial also with a choice of either blue nylon strap or a stainless-steel bracelet. Finally, the third is an all-black version for the more daring pilots. All three have a 42mm case with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and a specially engraved case-back with the Alpina logo. Each dial is decorated with white or blue luminous indexes and hand-polished hands. Three counters were placed at 3, 6 and 9 o?clock displaying the small seconds counter, the 30-minute counter and days of the week respectively. A discrete date window was added at 4 o?clock to complete the functionalities.

Alpina continues to celebrate its aviation historical connection not through the iconic Startimer collection but also by welcoming an ambassador who truly embodies the line?s philosophy.

Hm, sundat cisla a zmohutnit rucky. Takhle to je fakt hnusne.

Naprostý souhlas, předchůdci byli naprosto v pohodě a todle takto domrvili, nechápu. Čísly to začíná, ty jsou tím nejhorším prohřeškem a pokračuje to datumkou, která je akceptovatelná akorát u černé verze. Modrý cifr vs černá datumka se mi nelíbí a krémový cifr vs bílá datumka je ještě horší. Ručky mají pěkný tvar, ale jsou tak subtilní, že ani nebudou vidět. Mě se ani nelíbí zobrazení dnů v jednom ze subcifrů. Prostě toto ne, fakt se to nepovedlo.
