Thajsko - nějaké zajímavé hodinky?

Za nedlouho se chystám na vandr po Thajsku, chtěl bych si přivézt nějaké hodinky, ale určitě né fejky za pár korun. Nemáte někdo zkušenosti kde a co se vyplatí koupit? Nějaký oficiální obchod, freeport, letadlo.......? Nebo radši vůbec nic? Počítal bych něco tak do 10 tis. Předem dík za rady.

V Thajsku bych to spíš viděl na nějakou škaredou chorobu, než na dobrý hodinky

Právě proto se ptám na zkušenosti ostatních (ne s chorobama, ale s nákupem hodinek ). Myslel jsem že třeba čínské Sea-gull by nemusely být takový problém.......

Tak to myslíš špatně, moc se tam nevyskytují. Spíš samý fejky. Tady máš malého průvodce:

Here is an updated guide to shopping for watches in Bangkok, Thailand.

 

1) World Trade Centre: 4th floor. Used watches. Papaya. This is actually several small adjacent stores. They have lots of Omega, GP, Rolex and I recently saw a couple of Fortis amongst others. Rumour has it that the main Papaya shop was raided by customs and fined for importing watches without paying duty. The store has been closed for a while.

 

World trade Centre: On the ground floor, next to Chester's Grill, there are two small stores that sell used watches. They often have Patek Philippe, Rolex, Breguet, JLC, IWC and many more brands. There is also a display window filled with vintage Seiko, Omegas etc.

World trade Centre: Isetan. This Japanese department store has a good watch department on the second floor as well as Casio and low end fashion brands on the ground floor.

 

World Trade Centre: Troccadero Time has two stores in World Trade Centre on different floors. They have many brands of new watches. Ulysees Nardin, JLC, Oris, Grand Seiko etc. are in the ground floor store and Oris (again), Seiko, Maurice Lacroix, Fortis etc. are in the first floor store. They also have a branch at Discovery Centre on the ground floor that has a fine selection of Oris and Seiko's, Raymond Weil, Bucherer, Tag Heuer etc.

 

2) Gaysorn Plaza: Across the pedestrian bridge from World Trade Centre, or take the skytrain to Chitlom and enter by walking along the elevated walkways above street level. There is an Hour Glass shop that is the exclusive dealer in Bangkok for several brands. These include Glycine, Gerald Genta and Sinn. They have many other brands including Girard-Perregaux, Daniel JeanRichard and Patek Phillipe. There is also a Pendulum store which carries many brands.

 

3) Central Chitlom: This department store has a large watch and clock department. You can find Zenith, IWC, Breitling, Seiko, Tissot, Oris, Omega, Citizen and more.

 

4) Pendulum, Peninsula Plaza (Peninsula Hotel), have a small display window inside that has 2nd hand watches. This is a luxury watch store that also has branches at World Trade Centre (ground floor near the back) and Emporium Shopping Centre (ground floor) on Sukhumvit Road.

 

5) Mahboonkrong Centre (MBK). You can get there by Skytrain which has certainly revolutionised travel along Sukhumvit Road in this city. Change at Siam station and take the short line to National Stadium. The elevated walkway will take you into Tokyu store, which you can exit into MBK. On the 3rd floor of MBK, towards the south side and away from the Tokyu department store, is a small booth called Aim & Ohm where a friendly husband and wife team are authorised dealers for new Oris, Seiko, Zenith, Eterna, Maurice Lacroix, Charriol, Tissot and Mido. Buy with confidence here. I have bought Seiko automatics, Zenith, Omega and Oris watches here. The shop often has IWC, Brietling and Omega watches also. Good discounts are offered readily. The overheads are low and this is passed on in the pricing. Swatch are also sold nearby. MBK has many cheap copy watches which are obviously copies after a moments inspection (Hey, this is Bangkok!). Some of them have automatic and mechanical movements. There are also several other booths on the 3rd floor close to the Tokyu department store, where many used used watches are for sale.

 

Wichai Watch (used watches) is on the 4th floor of MBK at the hotel end of the complex. There is a market area and the shop is at the back against one of the walls. Wichai now has a watchmaker set up in a booth nearby also. Another friendly fellow who speaks good English and always has a varied selection of used watches. So many that it is possible to overlook some gems! I have bought some vintage Seikos here and Wichai always has a great supply of those hard to find Seiko bracelets and end links.

 

6) Emporium Shopping Centre. Very upmarket in Bangkok and where the rich shop. Some very fine watches are available here. There is very often a watch display on the ground floor lobby or first floor. You will find most luxury brands here at Pendulum and other watch shops (Chronoswiss, Piaget) on the ground floor. There is a Rolex dealer (Midas) on the ground floor also. The department store carries Mido and Oris, Tag Heuer, Baume and Mercier and Longines.

 

7) The Landmark (Hotel) Down the escalator from Sukhumvit Road near the Huntsman Pub. There is a shop that has many used watches. I saw some Seiko divers and vintage Rolex there recently.

 

8) Siam Centre (enter from Siam skytrain station). Near the Piano store on the third floor, at the back of the building (car park side) there is a small used watch shop called "Because I like it". Pete is the proprietor and he buys many of his watches during trips to Europe. The condition of his watches is invariably exceptionally good. They have many 1970s Omega, Heuer, Breitling, Zenith, IWC etc watches. They also have new Zeno watches. A few days ago I saw a beautiful Hamilton Fontainbleau a gold, mint, Vulcain Cricket and a mint 70's Enicar chronograph at this shop.

 

9) Discovery Centre: Troccadero on the ground floor, has a fine selection of Oris and Seiko's, Baume & Mercier, Tag Heuer etc. There is a shop next door that sells Revue Thommem, Movado, Eberhard and more.

Be sure to take the time to notice the natural beauty and elegance of Thailand while you are walking around! Always try to negotiate a better price. Usually you won't get more than a 5% discount in a department store though, unless they happen to have a sale on. A friendly manner gets better results here. Never get angry even though this city can have its frustrations. You'll see some strange things and sometimes it's better not to even ask why.

 

10) Also, try Chatuchak weekend market which is an interesting experience whether you are looking for watches or not. It is open Sat & Sun and is located opposite Moh Chit Skytrain station. Chatuchak is hot, sweaty and crowded and you can find all kinds of impedementa there. After entering from the Paholyothin road side, stay on the left side of the market, follow the road round (until you see the tall, bank sign) and look for the Buddhist amulet section on your left. There are four or five stalls selling used watches. Watch out for watches that have been butchered in India and sold to the dealers here. One tell-tale sign is excellent matt black redials which are done superbly in india. Unfortunately, many of these watches have "rooted" movements as my watch maker friend puts it. They tick, but have no hope of keeping time as the balance wheels and hairsprings are in sad shape and the movements have often been cobbled together and sometimes glued together. Buyer beware at Chatuchak! I have regularly been able to acquire some very nice vintage Seikos here though. Across from the Buddhist Amulet section in Chatuchak Market is a great oasis called Viva bar that serves a mean Heineken and has some funky tunes.

 

11) Fortune City; On Ratchadapisek Road, is primarily an IT mall and rivals Panthip Plaza as a place to buy computer equipment. Go there by taxi. On the fourth floor towards the Fortune Hotel, there is a store that sells used watches as well as used optical and musical equipment.

Radši těch 10 táců vraz do masáží... , teda pokud nepojedeš s něžnou polovičkou, ačkoli se mi vybavuje jedno přísloví o nošení dříví do lesa...

S polovičkou nejedu, to přísloví znám taky , ale říkal jsem si že když už tam budu a je tam všechno tak levné, tak by nebylo špatné si nějaké přivézt, jenomže vím že tam je větší problém koupit originál než repliku, a o tu zájem nemám , proto si rád nechám poradit od zkušenějších.

Tak já tp zkusím tak nějak zkombinovat. Pattaya2rd, naproti Soi 3. Masážní salon. Pokud si dobře vzpomínám, jedna holka tam měla na ruce i hodinky ...

V Thaisku a podobných zemích bych nečekal že luxusní zboží bude nějak výrazně levnější než u nás... Po hodinkách jsem koukal v Thajsku, Indonesii, Hong Kongu a uspěl jsem nakonec až na Taiwanu, ale to je docela jiná země než Thajsko...

 

Masáže ale rozhodně doporučuju! Fakt dobré a levné

 

Místo hodinek bych spíš dal pár zajímavých výletů.

Jestli jedeš na Pattayu, zajdi do baru CLIMAX. Úžasná live převážně rocková muzika, ale fakt hrajou skvěle. Ceny přijatelné. Je to na Walking Street po pravé straně asi v třetině celé ulice směrem od Beach Road.

Letíme s nějakou Taiwanskou leteckou společností, tak třeba budou mít něco zajímavého na prodej na palubě . Ono by to mělo být celé jeden velký, zajímavý výlet.

Zatím nevím kam jedu, máme koupené letenky a teoreticky v Bangkoku domluvené auto na 2 týdny. Ale jestli pojedem kolem, tak se tam určitě stavíme ......

Do 10 tisíc tam seženeš to, co tady, na hodinky to není ta správná země.

P.S. Na půjčování auta na 14 dní bych se v....l, akorát budete mít o starost navíc. Všude se tam dá dostat letadlem, vlakem, busem, minibusem, lodí nebo taxikem a to velmi levně a nonstop.

V Thajsku sem viděl fůry hodinek - např. po procházce tržištěm v Chang Mai můžeš mít za 10k plnej batoh brajtlí, rolexů a pateků. Když pak na odletu stojíš ve frontě Čechů co jedou z pláže, koukni se jim na zápěstí, je to prča

jak jsem po cestovani po svete koukal, tak mi pripadalo ze v Hong Kongu byly lepsi ceny nez na Taiwanu. Taky i kvuli tomu ze obchody s hodinkami byly na kazdem kroku.

Kdyz uz budes v Thajsku, nema smysl se vracet bez thajskych hodinek.

Jo, jo přesně něco takového jsem myslel. Čínský strojek a Thajská výroba........Pokud budou za rozumnou cenu, tak určitě některé z nich přivezu. Díky moc za radu . Ale určitě přivítám i další rady a nápady.
